About TX

Transition Extreme Skatepark, or TX as it’s known by the locals, is Aberdeen’s very own plywood paradise, providing the North East with an unbeatable space for skateboarding, BMXing and inline skating.

Built in 2007, the parks design was the brainchild of local skateboarding and skatepark builder Andy Dobson who, alongside Dave Partridge from Carve Skatepark Design and with the input of local skaters and BMXers has created a world class, challenging layout based on the flow of outdoor concrete parks.

The Redevelopment

We received £120, 000 in funding from Aberdeen Forward to develop a brand new skatepark. So far we have received some great feedback on the new design and we hope that you are able to come down and check it out.

Transition Extreme have collaborated with Scottish ramp builders Vision Ramps to bring this unique new design to the North East community. The new design retains a number of much loved elements and maintains the characteristic flow of the park while incorporating more street style obstacles. It will allow TX to offer more opportunities to the community and expand our social outreach programmes in ‘assisting young people make positive life transitions through sport and creativity’.

Something for all levels

The Skatepark offers something for everyone; beginner, intermediates and experienced riders in all disciplines (skateboarding, Bmxing and Inline skating). Careful consideration was given to the needs and wants of the skatepark users and this new design reflects that.

Thanks To Everyone

We could not have achieved this without the commitment and passion from our stakeholders, sponsors and dedicated participants, thank you. We would like to give a big thank you to Aberdeen Forward and Scottish Enterprise for making this possible. And a big thank you to contractors Vision Ramps who brought the park to us and Hutcheon lighting for our new lights too.
